Leaf

Bay LeafLaurel

The noble laurel, a symbol of victory and an essential Mediterranean aromatic. The deep green, leathery leaves provide a spicy, warm foundation that anchors our more volatile citrus notes.

MethodLeaves are shade-dried on racks for several weeks to develop their full aromatic complexity.
Olfactory ProfileCommanding and spicy. It delivers a deeply aromatic punch of warm clove, eucalyptus, and a resinous leather note that commands respect.
Seed

CarobAlgarrobo

Gathered from ancient, gnarled carob trees scattered across the finca. Often overlooked as just livestock fodder, the dark, leathery pods produce an incredibly rich, complex aroma when slowly roasted and ground.

MethodPods are sun-dried, seeded by hand, gently roasted, and then pulverized into a fine aromatic dust.
Olfactory ProfileDeeply gourmand and earthy. A mesmerizing fusion of dark cocoa powder, toasted hazelnut, and sticky caramel, grounded by an ancient, dusty woodiness.
Leaf

EucalyptusEucalipto

Though introduced in the 19th century, the towering blue gums have become an inseparable part of the landscape. After the rare winter rains, the crushed leaves beneath the trees release a clearing, mentholated mist into the heavy air.

MethodThe sickle-shaped adult leaves are gathered post-rain and steam distilled to capture the volatile eucalyptol.
Olfactory ProfilePiercing, icy, and expansive. A pure, sinus-clearing blast of camphor and cool mint, grounded by a subtle, dusty woody drydown.
Herb

FennelHinojo

Growing wild in massive, feathery clusters along the northern slopes of the campo. We forage the fronds in late spring just before the heat turns the landscape completely brown. The pollen-heavy yellow flowers are highly prized.

MethodFronds and flowers are dried slowly to preserve their volatile oils, then crushed by hand.
Olfactory ProfileA sweet, hypnotic haze. Rich, anisic, and warmly herbaceous, it floats above heavier base notes like a golden pollen cloud.
Leaf

Fig LeafHoja de Higuera

The essence of late Mediterranean summer. We bypass the sweet fruit entirely, focusing instead on the massive, dusty green leaves that release a distinctive, creamy-green sap when broken.

MethodLeaves are harvested at peak heat, shade-dried, and infused into our carrier oils.
Olfactory ProfileIntoxicatingly milky and sappy. It captures the heavy, humid shade of the tree canopy—bitter green at first, melting into a lush, coconut-like creaminess.
Flower

Gorse FlowerAulaga

A fearsome, spiky shrub that erupts into brilliant yellow blooms across the rugged campo. Despite its hostile exterior, the delicate flowers exude an unexpected, intoxicating scent reminiscent of coconut and warm almonds.

MethodFlowers are carefully picked by hand (avoiding the thorns) and immediately infused in warm oil.
Olfactory ProfileA bizarre, brilliant paradox. Emerging from brutal thorns is a scent of pure solar joy—richly powdery, redolent of toasted coconut and warm vanilla sugar.
Leaf

Grape LeafHoja de Vid

Sourced from the old-vine vineyards that blanket the rolling hills. The sun-baked leaves provide a subtle, dry herbaceous note that grounds our lighter floral compositions.

MethodGathered post-harvest, air-dried until brittle, and crushed into fine botanical dust.
Olfactory ProfileAustere, parched, and sophisticated. A beautiful expression of dry, tannic black tea, sun-bleached hay, and a faintly metallic, soil-driven minerality.
Nectar

HoneyMiel

Sourced from the wild blossoms of the Andalusian campo, our raw honey is a golden elixir that captures the essence of the sun-baked landscape. Rich in enzymes and natural humectants, it provides profound nourishment and a delicate, sweet warmth to our botanical formulations.

MethodHarvested by hand from local hives, cold-filtered to preserve its raw enzymes and volatile aromatics.
Olfactory ProfileA rich, golden sweetness with deep floral undertones. Opens with a sun-drenched, sticky warmth that mellows into a soft, powdery pollen and subtle beeswax resonance.
Flower

JasmineJazmín

The undisputed queen of the Moorish night. As the intense heat of the Andalusian sun fades, the star-shaped blossoms open to release a heavy, intoxicating cloud that blankets the ancient courtyard gardens.

MethodBlossoms are meticulously hand-picked before dawn and processed immediately via enfleurage or volatile solvent extraction to capture the fragile absolute.
Olfactory ProfileIntoxicatingly rich and indolic. A narcotic floral wave of sweet, fleshy petals with a subtle, feral undertone that evokes hot skin and humid summer nights.
Citrus

LemonLimón

The bright, tart counterpart to our Seville orange. Grown in the sun-drenched coastal valleys, these thick-skinned lemons provide an incredibly sharp, clean top note to our aromatic blends.

MethodThe peel is carefully zested, cold-pressed for essential oils, and the remainder sun-dried for infusions.
Olfactory ProfileA brilliant, blinding flash of light. Intensely sharp, sparkling, and ethereally clean, drying down to a delicate, powdery citrus whisper.
Wood

LentiskMata

An incredibly rugged, drought-resistant evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean basin. We collect both the deep green leaves and the rare 'tears' of sap it weeps in late summer. It is a cornerstone of our loose incense blends.

MethodLeaves are shade-dried on linen racks; sap is collected drop-by-drop from scored bark.
Olfactory ProfileStartlingly crisp and verdant. It opens with the snap of a broken green twig, expanding into a dry, resinous pine-like clarity that feels inherently wild.
Fruit

LoquatNíspero

A harbinger of the Andalusian spring, the loquat fruit offers a delicate, velvet-skinned sweetness. We capture this fleeting, apricot-like aroma to soften and sweeten our early seasonal pours.

MethodThe fruit is macerated, while the large seeds are gently roasted to extract almond-like undertones.
Olfactory ProfileA fragile, narcotic nectar. Dominated by a soft, honeyed peach-and-apricot fuzziness, underscored by the lactonic warmth of crushed almonds.
Fruit

MulberryMora

The dark, staining fruit of the black mulberry tree. Growing wild along the riverbeds, these fragile berries offer a deep, wine-like richness that adds complexity and a hint of dark fruit to our winter blends.

MethodBerries are gently pressed, and the dark juice is reduced to a concentrated syrup for selective aromatic use.
Olfactory ProfileA gothic, velvety indulgence. Thickly jammy, dripping with the aroma of bruised dark berries and fortified red wine, finishing with an intriguing tart snap.
Leaf

MyrtleMirto

A staple of classic Islamic garden design, most famously flanking the reflecting pools of the Alhambra. The small, glossy leaves and delicate white flowers release a uniquely sharp, uplifting resinous scent when crushed.

MethodBoth the leaves and the flowering tops are distilled to extract a clear, powerfully aromatic essential oil.
Olfactory ProfileRadiant, clean, and camphorous. It bridges the gap between sweet herbal notes and bright, medicinal eucalyptus, leaving a cool, purifying trail.
Wood

Olive Leaf & FruitOlivo

The undisputed monarch of the Andalusian landscape. We utilize both the silvery, bitter leaves and the concentrated essence of the unpressed dark fruit to capture the soul of the groves.

MethodLeaves are sun-dried and pulverized; fruit is cured to extract a deep, savory absolute.
Olfactory ProfileA profound, savory meditation. Salty, leathery, and deeply phenolic, reminiscent of ancient wood, brine, and the silvery shimmer of a hot afternoon.
Citrus

OrangeNaranja

Sourced from the historic groves of the region. The thick, heavily-pitted rind holds incredibly concentrated essential oils. We use it to brighten our botanical soaps and wardrobe sachets.

MethodPeels are sliced by hand and air-cured until brittle, then ground into our botanical mixtures.
Olfactory ProfileFerociously zesty and unapologetically tart. It bypasses conventional sticky sweetness to deliver a dry, bitter, and explosively aromatic rind expression.
Resin

RockroseJara

The defining scent of southern Spain. In the brutal heat of August, the rockrose bushes secrete a sticky, dark amber resin called labdanum to protect their leaves from the intense Andalusian sun. This survival mechanism creates one of the most complex and ancient perfume ingredients in the world.

MethodHand-gathered using traditional leather flails (Ladanisterion), then macerated in warm olive oil or tallow.
Olfactory ProfileIntensely ambery and deeply animalic, opening with a sharp, balsamic edge that slowly melts into a rich, sweet, and leathery warmth that lingers for hours.
Herb

RosemaryRomero

The ubiquitous, resilient herb of the Mediterranean. It grows in massive, sprawling bushes on the sunward slopes. We use it not just for its scent, but for its natural purifying properties in our botanical soaps.

MethodNeedles are stripped by hand, air-cured, and either infused in oils or ground into a fine powder.
Olfactory ProfileA bracing surge of evergreen vitality. Vibrantly resinous and slightly astringent, with a profound, woody warmth that evokes sun-baked scrubland.
Wood

Stone PinePino Piñonero

The iconic parasol-shaped pines that define the skyline around Gaucín and the Serranía de Ronda. We forage the fallen needles and young green cones, which carry a distinctively bright, resinous profile unlike any other pine in Europe.

MethodNeedles are distilled for their volatile oils; green cones are dried for our botanical burn blends.
Olfactory ProfileA brilliant, soaring freshness. Opens with a crisp, crystalline blast of pure sap, rapidly warming into a sweet, almost honeyed balsamic woodiness devoid of turpentine.
Herb

ThymeMejorana Silvestre

A specific, wildly aromatic variety of thyme native to the Iberian peninsula. It grows stubbornly in the rocky limestone crevices of the campo. It has a penetrating, almost medicinal clarity that cuts through heavy summer heat.

MethodHarvested just as the tiny pale flowers bloom, then bundled and hung in the shade to dry.
Olfactory ProfileAggressively herbaceous and piercingly clean. It carries a cool, minty camphor note that slices through heavy humidity, leaving a lingering, dry herbal resonance.
Flower

Wild ChamomileManzanilla

Growing in massive, low-lying carpets across the undisturbed meadows. These tiny, sun-like flowers are a symbol of rural healing, prized for their ability to soften the harsher edges of the wild flora.

MethodThe delicate flower heads are plucked by hand, slowly air-dried on linen nets, and either infused or distilled into a vivid blue oil.
Olfactory ProfileDeeply comforting and honeyed. A warm, herbaceous embrace that smells distinctly of sun-baked hay, sweet tobacco, and bruised apple skin.
Herb

Wild LavenderEspliego

Unlike the manicured, sweet varieties of Provence, the wild spike lavender of the Andalusian campo is rougher, hardier, and far more medicinal, thriving in the unforgiving rocky soil alongside thyme.

MethodThe tall, woody spikes are harvested by sickle, shade-dried, and heavily distilled.
Olfactory ProfileBracingly aromatic and wildly herbaceous. Dominated by sharp camphor and dry woods, stripping away the powdery sweetness for a fiercely clean, untamed profile.
Herb

Wild MintMenta

Growing vigorously near the seasonal streams (arroyos) that cross the valley. This wild strain of mint is far more robust and less sweet than cultivated varieties, carrying the raw energy of the rushing winter water.

MethodStems are harvested at dawn when oil concentration is highest, then promptly steam-distilled.
Olfactory ProfileFiercely cooling and electric. An icy shock to the senses that bypasses sugary peppermint for an intensely raw, crushed-leaf botanical vitality.
"Synthetics give you volume. Wildcrafting gives you geography. We choose geography."

Andalusian Beeswax & Tallow Our base matters as much as our fragrance. We reject soy or paraffin waxes. Instead, we use a blend of raw, unfiltered beeswax, creating a slow-burning candle with a subtle, honeyed warmth.
