In 2020, we left London for an off-grid finca in the Andalusian campo, seeking a quieter life closer to nature.
Finding Quiet in the Campo
Our finca sits high in the hills of southern Spain, surrounded by ancient olive groves, cork oaks, and vast stretches of untamed scrubland. Wandering these hills through the year, one of the most abiding things has always been how fragrant they are.
"When you walk here, you smell the fennel, thyme, rosemary, carob... Scent connects us with memories and places like no other, offering a deep, physiological relaxation."
Jararosa was born from a desire to capture this exact feeling. We wanted to create a way to bring a little of the rugged Andalusian countryside to people all over the world. Our process begins outside our door-gathering rockrose, distilling local botanicals, and working in rhythm with the intense, sun-baked seasons.
Everything we make is grounded in the botanicals of our finca. We produce in small batches, led by what the landscape offers, rather than the demands of scale. It is a slow, tactile process, resulting in home fragrance that feels authentic, raw, and deeply connected to a sense of place.
Each lote begins with botanicals gathered by hand from our finca and the surrounding Andalusian campo. To ensure a perfect burn and a lasting scent, we complete the formula with the finest sourced materials, documenting exactly what was gathered, what was sourced, and why, in every batch.
